1. Who we are
Chore Champion ("we", "us") operates Chore Champion and acts as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice.
2. What we collect and why
- Account data (email, display name, role, avatar emoji) — to create and secure your account and present you in your family.
- Family content (chores, completions, rewards, photo proofs, notes) — to deliver the core features of the Service.
- Notifications and preferences — to send reminders and in-app updates you opt into.
- Usage and device data (IP, browser, request logs) — for security, troubleshooting, and improving the Service. Legitimate interests.
- Subscription metadata (Paddle customer ID, plan, status, period dates) — to grant access and manage billing. Payment details (card number, billing address) are collected and processed directly by Paddle and are not stored on our servers.
3. Legal bases
We process personal data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service.
4. Who we share data with
- Hosting and database providers used to run the Service.
- Paddle.com Market Ltd., our Merchant of Record, for subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
- Email providers used to deliver transactional and notification emails.
- Professional advisers and authorities where required by law.
5. International transfers
Some recipients are located outside your country. Where applicable we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to safeguard transfers.
6. Retention
We keep account and family data for as long as the account is active. When you delete your account we remove or anonymise your data within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal or accounting reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users may complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise your rights, email support@chorecrew.app. We aim to respond within one month.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and Row-Level Security on our database.
9. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.
10. Children
A parent or guardian creates the family and is responsible for any child profiles. Photo uploads should not include personally identifying information beyond what is needed to verify a completed chore.
